Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Nostril iOS app and this page. By using Nostril you agree to them.
Nostril is a wellness and habit app. It is not a medical device, it is not certified as one, and nothing it shows you is a diagnosis or medical advice. Do not use it to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
This matters most around snoring. Loud or frequent snoring, gasping, or pauses in breathing during sleep can be signs of obstructive sleep apnea, a serious condition that needs a clinician. Nostril cannot detect sleep apnea and does not try to. If you or someone else notices those signs, see a doctor. Do not delay medical care because of anything you read in this app.

Your licence to use Nostril
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Nostril on any iPhone or iPad you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms. The subscription covers every device signed in to the same Apple account. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code or models from the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Nostril is free to download. Premium features are an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. Payment is taken by Apple, and the subscription renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
You manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings, not through us, and we cannot cancel it on your behalf. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. Your statutory rights as a consumer in the EU are unaffected by anything in this section.
What Nostril does not promise
Nostril infers what it hears using machine learning, and machine learning is not perfect. Classifications can be wrong. Background noise, a partner in the room, pets, traffic, the position of the phone, and the acoustics of the room all affect results. Treat the numbers as an indication of a trend, not as measurement of clinical quality.
We provide the app as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any particular health or sleep outcome will follow from using it.
Your responsibilities
Use Nostril lawfully, and only record in a setting where you are entitled to. If another person sleeps in the room, recording their sounds may affect their rights, so make sure they know and agree. You are responsible for your own device, your Apple account, and any backups.
Intellectual property
Nostril, its name, its design, its code and its content belong to DeadPixel Studio UG or its licensors. Third-party components, including Apple frameworks and the YAMNet model, remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their licences. Your data is yours.
Liability
We are liable without limit for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. We are liable for slight negligence only where an essential contractual obligation is breached, and then only up to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract.
Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and nothing here removes your right to bring proceedings there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its date at the top, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Nostril after a change means you accept the updated terms.
