ALTITUDE ZERO / LAST UPDATED 6 JULY 2026

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Altitude Zero collects when you play it on iPhone or iPad, how it is used, and what choices you have. It covers the game and this page.

THE SHORT VERSION
We do not sell your personal information. We collect the minimum needed to make the game work, keep leaderboards fair, and, for players on the free tier, show ads. Your progress lives on your device, Apple handles every payment, and we never see your card or your real name.

Who we are

Altitude Zero is developed and operated by DeadPixel Studio UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Berlin, Germany, registered at Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under HRB 279669 B, VAT ID DE459996624. We are the controller for the purposes of the GDPR. You can reach us at [email protected], and the full postal address is on our Imprint.

What we collect

  • Game Center data. If you sign in to Apple's Game Center we receive your player alias and a Game Center-managed identifier, a scoped Apple ID that is opaque to us. It is used to submit scores to the weekly and all-time leaderboards and to unlock achievements. We never see your Apple ID or your real name, and all of it is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
  • In-app purchases. Coin packs and the Pro upgrade are processed by Apple. We receive a receipt token confirming the purchase, never your card number, billing address, or full Apple ID. Receipts are stored on your device, and backed up to your iCloud if you have that enabled.
  • Advertising identifier. Free-tier players see ads. If you opt in through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, our advertising partners may receive your IDFA to serve more relevant ads. Decline and ads are shown non-personalised. You can change your mind at any time in Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking.
  • Diagnostics. We may receive aggregated, non-identifying crash and performance reports through Apple's App Analytics, and only if you opted in to Share with App Developers on your device.
  • Email. If you write to us, we receive whatever you choose to include, typically your address and your message.

How we use it

  • To run the game: submit scores, unlock achievements, deliver purchases you paid for, and restore them when you tap Restore Purchases.
  • To show ads on the free tier, using device signals and, with your consent, the IDFA.
  • To improve the game: diagnose crashes, tune difficulty, find bugs, using aggregated data wherever we can.
  • To reply when you email support.

We do not use your information for anything else without your consent.

Purchases and coins

Coin packs, ships bought with coins, and the Pro upgrade that removes ads are all in-app purchases through the App Store. Apple processes every payment; we neither receive nor store your payment method.

Coins are a virtual in-game currency. They have no real-world value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot move between accounts or devices. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. The full rules are in the Terms of Use.

Advertising

Free-tier players see advertisements delivered by third-party ad networks. Depending on the ad and your tracking choice, they may be personalised or not. Buying the Pro upgrade removes all advertising for the lifetime of that purchase on your Apple account, and you can restore it on a new device with Restore Purchases.

Who else is involved

  • Apple, for the App Store, Game Center, StoreKit and App Analytics, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
  • Our advertising partners, who deliver ads to free-tier players and may receive your IDFA if you consent to tracking.
  • Our email provider, used only for support correspondence you start.

We do not share your personal information with anyone else, and we do not sell it.

Data retention

  • Game progress, your best score, unlocked ships, coin balance and achievements, is stored on your device and backed up to your iCloud if you have sync enabled. Deleting the game removes the local copy.
  • Leaderboard scores are retained by Apple under Apple's rules.
  • Support emails are kept only as long as needed to answer them and follow up.

Children

Altitude Zero is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.

Your rights

In the EU and EEA, the UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

Because the game collects so little, most requests are satisfied by deleting the app, which removes the local data, and by managing Game Center visibility in your device settings. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to a supervisory authority; ours is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited data we handle. No system is perfectly secure, but we store no payment information ourselves, and data on your device is protected by the operating system's own encryption while the device is locked.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, the date at the top changes, and material changes will be described in an app update or on this page. Continued play after a change means you accept the revised policy.
